First, the obvious question: does sugar-free wine really exist? The short answer is yes.
A few years ago, we at PURE The Winery began producing and selling our range of sugar-free wines. There’s a growing number of people who want to enjoy a good glass of wine—ideally without its downsides. One of those downsides is sugar.
Sugar is a concern for people who, for health reasons, need to avoid it. Think, for instance, of diabetes patients who need to keep their blood sugar levels balanced at all times.
If you’re trying to lose weight and want to avoid sugar, wine without sugar is a great alternative to traditional wines that are high in sugar.
Finally, sugar-free wine is an appealing choice for people looking to reduce their calorie intake. Athletes, for example, who want to occasionally enjoy a glass of wine—while making the most responsible choice possible.

At PURE The Winery, you’ll find five types of sugar-free wine, all of which have the following features:

But how is it possible? Award-winning, flavorful wine without sugar? Let us explain.
Wine Without Sugar
Sugar is found in almost everything these days: from cookies to bread, and yes—even wine.
According to the Dutch Nutrition Center, an average glass of wine (150 ml) contains around 8.9 grams of sugar—which is more than two sugar cubes per glass.
PURE The Winery removes sugar through a unique and traditional fermentation process that naturally converts the sugars into alcohol.
The grapes used in PURE wines are carefully selected and harvested at the optimal moment. Grapes contain sugars—some that can ferment into alcohol, and some that cannot.
Our winemaker, Daniele Cusmano, ferments the first group of sugars into alcohol. For the non-fermentable residual sugars, Daniele has developed his own unique fermentation method. This allows him to naturally convert even the remaining sugars into alcohol.
That’s why we’re proud to display 0 grams of sugar and 0 grams of carbohydrates on every nutritional label on our bottles.
At Least 30% Fewer Calories Compared to Regular Wine
One of the biggest benefits of sugar-free wine is that it contains significantly fewer calories.
Sugar, carbohydrates, and alcohol are all sources of calories. So, wine with no sugar and no carbs automatically means fewer calories per glass.
PURE The Winery’s wines contain at least 30% fewer calories compared to wines with ≥12% alcohol, carbohydrates, and sugar.

All wines from PURE The Winery have an alcohol content of 10.5%.
